Case Studies: Visible Improvement

After a student finished a 12-session learning period in around three months' time, we give the student another AI-based adaptive assessment to gauge the improvement that the student had made in the learning period. The charts below are not the report itself.     These are a summary of historical assessment reports to give students, parents and tutors a snap shot of how the student has been progressing since the student joined this Advanced Learner's Club.

English Reading

Mark is student in grade 8. He joined English and Math Advanced Learner's Club in September 2021. In his first adaptive assessment, he scored 1,106 at the 35th percentile level against all grade 8 students in U.S.A. which indicated some serious issues in his reading comprehension skills. After nine months, his assessment score improved to 1,168 at 51th percentile level. Mark gained only 6 points in his first half of study; but gained 56 points in his second half of study. This is a normal and very common phenomeneon. As students continues to build stronger foundation, they become more confident and skillful in learning.

Language Arts

Angeline is a student in grade 7 in 2021-2022 school year. She joined English and Math Advanced Learner's Club in September 2021. Since then she delligently worked on her weekly homework and comes to center to meet her tutor every week. In 9 months' time, she made fantasic improvement in her English writing skills. Her adaptive assessment reports show that her national percentile ranking again all students in U.S.A. jumped from 59th percentile to 95th percentile! Literally she became a top tier student in English writing from a below grade student in just nine months. Again she obseved much faster improvement in her second half of learning journey.

Mathematics

Harvey was in grade 4 when he joined English and Math Advanced Learner's Club in October 2021. Though he started off at a relatively low mark with first adaptive assessment score of 916 at 18th percentile in national ranking, he sticked to his learning path created by his tutor and followed his learning path schedule with minimum interruption. His improvement is examplary. In merely 7 months, his third assessment score improved from 916 to 1,175, which put him at an outstanding 98th percentile in national ranking. It is common that students in lower school grades often make improvements in relatively shorter period of time. The good learning habit developed in the process will  go a long way in future.
