Math Competition-Junior and Senior

in Math Programs

Looking for a fun, but challenging math program which supports math curriculum in schools? Why not register your student for a Math Competition course? Our Math Competition Course provides all this and more! Aligned with the principles of the Ontario Association for Mathematics Education (OAME), students are inspired to experience a learning environment where all students do, see, hear and touch mathematics in a profound and meaningful way. Our program focuses on extending student application of mathematical knowledge in new, innovative and creative ways that foster critical thinking, problem solving, and profound thought.

Junior Course

The Ontario Mathematics Olympiad (OMO) hosts an annual math competition that students in Grade 7 and 8 can compete in. Based in the Ontario mathematics curriculum, the competition requires students to demonstrate their understanding of the mathematical concepts and their ability to solve problems and communicate their knowledge.
Students will:

• Develop key skills and strategies to complete OMO's junior math competition
• Apply their thinking to new mathematical equations
• Participate in the OMO math competition at the end of June

Senior Course

The Department of Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo offers Math Contests for students enrolled in Ontario Secondary Schools. Internationally recognized, CEMC hopes to inspire the next generation of students to develop an interest in mathematics and/or computer science.
