Making Math Matter
"Possibilities within Mathematics

For Intermediate Learners in Grade 7 and 8

Extending the math learning day helps students not only meet Ontario math standards and develop proficiency, but also enable them to engage in the kind of deep learning and comprehension they may not have time for during normal classroom hours. Help your teen foster a growth mindset, one which fosters a dedication to learning, growing, and succeeding in mathematics!  Our primary objective for students in Grade 7 and 8 is for students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical processes which can be applied to new and exciting equations!

Our Math Literacy program, developed around the Ontario Math Curriculum, helps students gain greater fluency in mathematics and apply these strategies to real-world scenarios! Our program will help your teen critically think about numeracy and its applications in modern settings. Making Math Matter helps your teen develop a firm foundation within the following areas:

  • Number Sense and Numeration
  • Measurement
  • Geometry and Spatial Sense
  • Patterning and Algebra
  • Data Management and Probability

Our approach to Mathematics is that students will gain an in-depth understanding and awareness of math concepts and strategies, and be able to apply thinking and reasoning skills during practical applications. In addition, students will begin to see the value engrained in mathematical applications and its importance in future career opportunities! It is never too early to start thinking about where math can take you!

“Anything is possible if you have the mindset and the will and desire to do it and put the time in.”
-Roger Clemens, America Baseball Pitcher
