Summer Creative Writing

For Grades 4 ~ 6 

 

Course Description 

In this course, students will develop a strong understanding of developing and writing fiction and poetry through instruction and practice. They will also learn how to express their creative ideas in new and exciting ways. Every class students will receive instruction from the teacher, class work, and homework. Students will frequently have the opportunity to work together in pairs or in groups in order to socialize and share ideas.

The subjects of focus will be:

  • Fiction
  • Poetry

 

Course Aims 

  • Students will produce a body of creative works of which they can be proud, with feedback to guide them in the future.
  • Learn how to give and take constructive criticism and strive for self-improvement in their writing and story-telling.
  • Develop a passion for creative writing as well as an awareness of what their brilliant imaginations can produce when put to the test.

 

Grades: 4~6

Class Times: 6:00-7:00pm every Tuesday

Class Dates: 4th July to 22nd August 2017, 8 weeks

Cost: $150 + HST 

 

About the Instructor: Emily Zarevich is a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English. She obtained her TESL certificate from Humber College. An enthusiast of great writing in all its forms, she looks forward to working with your child and helping them find their creative voice.
