Subject Teacher/Tutor (part-time)
OAKLearning Center provides premium private tutoring and enrichment classes to students from grade 1 to grade 12. We are looking for reliable, patient and enthusiastic part-time teachers and tutors for English, Math, French, Science and other subjects including but not limited Spanish, physics, chemistry, biology, functions, advanced functions, calculus & vectors, accounting, and etc.
A qualified candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- A four-year undergraduate degree
- Currently pursuing or have completed Teacher's College degree, OCT or OCT pending is an added asset
- Familiarity with the current Ontario Curriculum
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Excellent work ethics and be punctual
Responsibilities:
- Teaching enrichment classes with 6 to 10 students
- Creating lesson plans to meet identified learning goals
- Preparing coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts
- Evaluating student’s class work and assignments (i.e. grade tests, lab reports and other assignments)
- Providing students and parents with professional feedback
- Updating attendance and lesson notes in students management system
- Providing private tutoring for students in need
Camp Instructor (contract full-time)
Science & Robotic Camps at OAKLearning provide co-educational opportunities to develop essential life skills among participants. Our camp programs emphasize inspiring campers’ interests in STEM via building and programming robots and developing collaboration and communication in a fun environment!
As Camp Instructor, you will be responsible for providing the instruction in the program as well as overseeing the work of other assistants/volunteers, if any, in order to ensure a safe, productive and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Develop, plan, execute and supervise the camp programs
- Instruct and lead activities with campers and other supporting staff
- Create schedules for activities that allow for the highest quality experience and ensures flexibility needed
- Follow and ensure camp procedures and policies to ensure the safety of all campers
- Manage and problem solve issues with campers, staff and volunteers
- Ensure all staff receives the proper training related to health and safety when needed
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers, staff and visitors
Knowledge and Skills:
- Post-secondary education or a minimum completion of 2nd year
- Proven competence in instructional abilities in program area and in ensuring appropriate balance of fun, education & skill development.
- Previous experience as a camp instructor or counselor
- Proven abilities in supervising junior level staff. Completion of a leadership program is an asset.

Robotics Program Head (full-time)

The Program Head of Robotics Program is responsible to enhance, manage, operate and oversee the robotic-related programs and camps. You will also be directly involved in the marketing, hiring and training works of robotics program. Reporting to the Center Director, this position involves extensive planning, program development and enhancement, staff training, facilitating off-campus implementation, as well as student/parent care and engagement.
Previous educational robotics experience is valued but not required. Robotics related product and program training will be provided.
Specific Accountabilities in focus areas:
1. Robotics Courses (during school year)
- Enhance current course plans based on RoboRobo™ curriculum and textbooks.
- Create new robots and related course plans based on RoboRobo™ materials.
- Teach robotics classes as necessary including in evenings and on Saturday.
- Facilitate and coordinate off-campus delivery of RoboRobo™ programs.
- Develop robotics competition-prep programs.
- Organize and facilitate robotics competition at different levels.
- Act as the parent liaison to build relationships with student families and ensure satisfaction to drive increased customer service.
2. Robotics Camps (during March break and summer)
- Work closely with Center Director to build and enhance robotic camp programs.
- Nurture a positive camp culture by leading, motivating and developing strong teams.
- Create activities that are welcoming for parents to join/observe aspects of camps (for the shy or timid campers).
- Ensure facilities, equipment and materials are purchased and managed properly.
- Act as the first aid response and behavior management response presence for camp programs.
- Act as the parent liaison to build relationships with camper families and ensure satisfaction to drive increased customers service.
3. Marketing
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development based on research in community, competition and trend analysis.
- Participate marketing events to promote RoboRobo™ products and programs.
- Post robotics stories and events regularly on social media.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials.
4. Human Resources
- Assist Center Director in job posting, interviewing and staff orientation.
- Develop and deliver training modules that support the professional development of staff and volunteers.
- Train part-time instructors and conduct staff performance evaluations.
- Schedule part-time instructors. Manage sick-leave, absence and scheduling issues.
In addition to the passion for education, you are expected to:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
- Have passion for learning and teaching robotics and visual programming
- Be result-driven, self-motivated and organized
- Effective communication skills and public speaking skills
- Experience of working in camps and/or an educational organization is a plus

Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in camp management
- Experience in coaching kids for robot competitions
- LEGO, VEX Robotics teaching and competition experience is a plus

Robotics Course Instructor (part-time)
OAKLearning Center is looking for reliable, patient and enthusiastic instructors to teach our world-class class robotic courses. Teaching materials, course plans and training are provided.
We offer robotic courses in three courses for kids from 4 to 14 years old. Programs are delivered both in center and in satellite locations such as in partnered schools or community centers. We are looking for part time instructors on weekday during after school hours and/or on Saturdays.
A qualified candidate for this position will possess the following criteria:
- Passion for science and/or engineering project; love to build something creative and have fun with kids
- Currently pursuing or have previously completed a diploma or higher, OCT or OCT pending is a big asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening or willingness to get one
- Access to a reliable car
- Excellent work ethics and be punctual at all time
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for teaching RoboRobo courses in small class settings
- Classroom management: prepare coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts
- Check robotics materials and prepare robots
- Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to students as required
- Provide students with feedback in line with the faculty assessment systems
- Work with the directors to create individualized lesson plans to meet identified learning goals
- Communicate with director, students, and parents on a constant basis to discuss student progress
- Update lesson note to OAKLearning’s student management system after each tutoring session
- Participating marketing events as needed
Operations Administrator (full-time)
Established in 2016, OAKLearning Center is a leading after-school education service institution based in Oakville, Ontario, for serving students from grade 1 to grade 12.
The Operations Administrator is expected not only to keep the center operation running effectively; but also to make direct contribution to the growth of the company. This is an exciting role for someone who want to build a career in a fast-growing education company.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute company’s business strategies and tactics diligently and effectively
- Ensure the center is always in safe, clean, organized and welcoming conditions
- Coordinate the scheduling and staffing of classes provided
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of operations data using CRM system
- Promote the sales of classes and products in a proactive manner
- Work collaboratively with academic team to deliver best customer care
- Streamline operations process and documentation for increased productivity
